Survivor, “Going Down in Flames”

April 22, 2010

Great episode tonight!  This season continues to have some amazing moments and Survivor firsts!  But that’s why we watch it, right?  You never know what people are going to come up with next.

Spoilers after the jump!

J.T. was a good sport when he was voted out tonight, where others might have been very bitter.  If he is true to himself, however, he has to know it was his own assumptions that got him ousted.  He assumed there was an all-girl alliance; he assumed Russell would have gone home if not for him; he assumed Russell would then be loyal to the heroes!  And then he never listened to Rupert, when Rupert finally started making sense.

But the idea the Heroes had was a good one: let Russell vote for Parvati and the rest would vote for Jerri.  But no one counted on Parvati handing out two immunity idols, and not even saving one for herself!  Another Survivor first!  But where there is Russell, we will always see immunity idols being used uniquely, I think.  And did Parvati win some loyalty from Sandra?

It looks like Russell may be angry with Parvati next week, but angry enough to get rid of her as is his wont when someone else gets too powerful?  And everyone has overlooked Sandra, who is smarter than she appears to be.

One more note: As sportsmanlike as J.T. was in getting voted out, his exit interview offended me!  “And more importantly, never ever trust a woman!”  What did a woman have to do with it?!  It was his own stupidity that led to his downfall.  He has no one to blame but himself.  OK, and Russell.
